games for Adirondack team that went on to win AHL playoff title, but was not
with team in postseason. Miscellaneous: Signed 3-year contract with Winnipeg
(WHA) in June 1978, and did not enter NHL until June 9, 1979, when Detroit
took him back from Winnipeg in the 1979 NHL Reclaim Draft. Under the rules of
the reclaim draft, the Red Wings were obligated to keep Hicks on their NHL
roster for at least two full seasons. ... Named to left wing position on
all-time Flin Flon (WCHL/WHL) team by a CHL panel in 1999. Personal: Younger brother of former
