first time on Aug. 29, 1990. ... Played 18 games for Chicago Cheetahs (RHI,
InLine) in 1994. ... Came out of retirement on Sept. 10, 1994, to play two seasons for
Chicago (IHL) before retiring for the final time at age 38 in September 1996.
... Spent summers during his playing days managing his family's sporting goods
store in Espanola, Ontario. ... Became active in Oldtimers' charity hockey
after his retirement, balancing it with his career as a pilot. Secord
The Pilot: Secord earned a pilot's license during his playing
days, and after his retirement he became licensed to fly commuter jets in both
the United States and Canada. After working as commercial pilot for United Express during the mid-1990s,
he moved to the Dallas area and began work for American Airlines in 1998.
Secord specialized in flying a Fokker 100, 79-seat aircraft on commuter
flights. His second wife, Tracy, also worked as a pilot for American Airlines,
and the two met during their job training. Personal: Full name is Alan William
