1988-89 season and remained in position through 1988-89 season.
Scouting Career: Named Portland (WHL) scout prior to 1989-90 season and
remained in that position through 1989-90 season.
Management Career: Named Portland (WHL) scouting coordinator prior to
1990-91 season and remained in that position through 1992-93 season. ... Named
Portland (WHL) vice-president following the death of his uncle in 1993 and
remained in that position through 1997-98 season. Retained his partial
ownership stake in Portland team, which he had inherited from his uncle, into
2003-04 season.
Personal: Nicknamed "Bunny." ... Full name is Brian James Shaw. ... Nephew
of former major-junior executive Brian C. Shaw, who founded the WHL's Portland
Winter Hawks after moving team from Edmonton, and later died of AIDS in 1993.
Brian C. Shaw was posthumously accused of having molested junior hockey
players for 25 years. |
