did not play in any of team's final series games vs. Edmonton. Coaching
Career: Named Philadelphia interim assistant coach on Jan. 27, 1999, and
remained in position until May 2, 1999. ... Named Philadelphia interim
assistant coach on Feb. 20, 2000, and remained in that position until May 26,
2000. ... Named Philadelphia assistant coach on June 8, 2000, and remained in
position until April 28, 2002.
Miscellaneous: Missed part of 1984-85 season with ankle injury, suffered
during his first NHL game vs. Washington on Dec. 23, 1984. ... Called up to
Philadelphia as assistant coach during 1998-99 season when head coach Wayne
Cashman was recovering from back surgery. ... Called up to Philadelphia as
assistant coach during 1999-00 season after head coach Roger Neilson was
diagnosed with cancer. |

30, 1990, stopped playing after 1991-92 season, and remained in assistant
coach position through 1992-93 season. ... Named Hershey (AHL) assistant coach
prior to 1994-95 season and remained in position until June 13, 1996. ...
Named Philadelphia (AHL) assistant coach on June 13, 1996, after team
relocated from Hershey and remained in that position, including two breaks to join parent team as assistant coach, until June 8, 2000.
... Named Owen Sound (OHL) head coach on July 17, 2002, and remained in position
into 2004-05 season. Miscellaneous: Missed part of
1989-90 season with hand injury, suffered in October 1989. ... Turned down
offer to be Johnstown (ECHL) head coach in 1995. ... Was assistant
coach for Planet USA team at 1998 AHL All-Star Game. ... Served as director of

TRADE: Philadelphia traded Stothers to
Toronto in exchange for future considerations (1989 fifth-round pick -- later
traded) on December 4, 1987. Six months
later, Philadelphia got Stothers back from Toronto in exchange for Bill Root
on June 21, 1988. |
