AWARDS AND HONORS Education: Majored in business marketing at Providence College.
Miscellaneous: Played on line with John Deasey and Steve Bianchi for
Notre Dame in 1982-83. ... Left Notre Dame after his freshman season because
school had dropped out of CCHA and major Division I status, instead playing
the next several years as an independent. As a result, DeVoe was not subject
to NCAA transfer rules and could join Providence College team without having
to sit out any portion of 1983-84 season. ... Missed remainder of 1983-84
season with injury, suffered during Providence's Feb. 12, 1984, game at New
Hampshire.
