HOW HE GOT AWAY |
FREE AGENCY: Laird never signed with
Pittsburgh, instead playing as an amateur with the team's IHL affiliate in
Fort Wayne during the 1974-75 season. He remained with Fort Wayne after
Pittsburgh severed its ties to the Fort Wayne team in 1975 and eventually
signed with Minnesota as an unrestricted free agent on September 15, 1979. |
