HOW HE GOT AWAY
WHA/WAIVERS: Zuke did not sign with St. Louis after he graduated from college in 1976. Instead he jumped to the WHA with Indianapolis. He entered the NHL when he signed with St. Louis on Sept. 1, 1978. St. Louis left him unprotected for the 1983 NHL Waiver Draft, and he was claimed by Hartford on Oct. 3, 1983.
