HOW HE GOT AWAY
EXPANSION: Buffalo left Fogolin unprotected for the 1979 NHL Expansion Draft, and he was claimed by Edmonton on June 13, 1979. Buffalo got Fogolin back eight years later when Edmonton traded him with Mark Napier and 1987 fourth-round pick (John Bradley) to the Sabres in exchange for Normand Lacombe, Wayne Van Dorp and 1987 fourth-round pick (Peter Ericksson) on March 6, 1987.
