AWARDS AND HONORS Detroit Rookie of Year: 1974-75
Miscellaneous: Missed part of 1974-75 season with separated shoulder,
an injury that required postseason surgery. ... Had surgery for injuries
suffered in car accident following 1975-76 season. ... Was one of the two
players (with Jim Rutherford) that Detroit originally offered Los Angeles as
compensation for signing Rogie Vachon on Aug. 8, 1978. The NHL overruled the
move and forced Detroit to give Dale McCourt to Los Angeles. McCourt fought
the ruling and was allowed to remain in Detroit, but Lochead was not part of
the final compensation package. |
