Edmonton Records: Most goals in one game (5 on Feb. 3, 1984, vs.
Calgary, shares record)
1977-78: Played three regular-season games for Montreal team that went
on to win Stanley Cup, but was not with team during playoffs. Management
Career: Worked in Edmonton's marketing department during off-seasons of
his playing days with Oilers.
Miscellaneous: Called up to NHL for first time in December 1977 when
several Montreal players came down with the flu and the team needed emergency
replacements. ... Missed part of 1980-81 season with sore back, an injury
suffered in March 1981. ... Missed part of 1981-82 season with strained knee
ligaments, an injury suffered in Edmonton's Nov. 14, 1981, game at N.Y.
Islanders. ... Scored goal that gave Wayne Gretzky his 200th point (Gretzky
assisted) in 1981-82. ... Set NHL and Edmonton records (since broken) for
fastest two shorthanded goals by scoring 25 seconds apart in the second
period, 15:18 and 15:43, at St. Louis on Jan. 11, 1983). With this achievement
he also became the first NHL player to break a record established by Wayne
Gretzky. ... Missed start of 1984-85 season with sprained knee suffered in
October 1984 preseason game. ... Missed part of 1984-85 season with sprained
knee suffered in January 1985. |
