prior to 1983-84 season and remained in that position through 1985-86 season.
... Named Brown (ECAC) assistant coach prior to 1986-87 season and remained in
position through 1987-88 season. ... Named University of Rhode Island (ECHA,
club level) prior to 1989-90 season and remained in that position into 2002-03
season.
Education: Majored in sociology at Boston College.
Miscellaneous: Named Boston College alternate captain for 1978-79, but
did not to return for his senior season. ... Did not sign with Atlanta after
leaving Boston College. Instead spent year in IHL to become free
agent. Signed with N.Y. Rangers organization in 1979, but never played for
parent team. ... Missed part of 1979-80 season with foot injury suffered in
January 1980. ... Coached Pawtucket Shea High School to Rhode Island Class B
championship in 1986. ... Worked for Coca-Cola of Rhode Island while coaching
at Shea and Brown.
Personal: Full name is Joseph Martin Augustine. ... Older brother of
