Became first former Yale player to play in the NHL when he made his NHL debut on March 9, 1984. ... Scored his first NHL goal on a 50-foot slap shot that beat Grant Fuhr during N.Y. Rangers' March 10, 1984, game at Edmonton. ... Shifted from center to right wing as a rookie with New York Rangers in 1983-84 and 1984-85. ... Missed part of 1984-85 season with separated right shoulder, an injury suffered when he was checked into the boards by Chris Kostopoulos during N.Y.
