HOW HE GOT AWAY |
TRADE/RETIREMENT: Minnesota traded Giles,
Tony McKegney and 1988 second-round pick (Troy Mallette) to N.Y. Rangers in
exchange for Bob Brooke and return of Minnesota's 1988 fourth-round pick (Jeff
Stolp) on November 13, 1986. One year later, Minnesota got Giles back from
N.Y. Rangers in exchange for Byron Lomow and future considerations on November
20, 1987. Minnesota lost Giles again when he cleared waivers and retired on
Oct. 4, 1991. He later came out of retirement and signed with St. Louis on February 29, 1992. |
