Made his NHL debut as injury replacement for Barry Gibbs in first round of 1973 Stanley Cup playoffs. It was also his lone NHL playoff game. ... Picked up assist on first shift of first regular-season game. ... Minnesota sold the professional rights to Ahrens and Pierre Jarry to Edmonton (WHA) in March 1978.
