AWARDS AND HONORS Miscellaneous: Wore No. 38 in Winnipeg's 1985 training camp. He missed
part of that training camp dealing with chronic tonsillitis. ... Scored his only NHL goal in Winnipeg's Nov. 6, 1985, game
vs. Buffalo. It was the first NHL goal allowed by Sabres goalie Daren Puppa,
who had shut out Edmonton in his debut. Stewart was sent back to junior
after the game and never played in the NHL again. ... Wore No. 26 in
Winnipeg's 1986 training camp. |

assistant coach prior to 1997-98 season and remained in position through
1997-98 season. Miscellaneous: Attended Team Canada
World Junior Championships training camp in summer of 1985, but did not make
final tournament roster. ... Fell out of favor in
Kamloops due to disputes with coach Ken Hitchcock at start 1985-86
season. Stewart said Hitchcock wasn't giving him enough ice time, because he
wouldn't play the system of hockey Hitchcock required. ... Traded by
Kamloops (WHL) to Prince Albert in exchange for Ken Morrison, Don Schmidt
and future considerations on Nov. 8, 1985. ... Traded by Prince Albert (WHL)
with Kim Rasmussen and Graham Garden to Brandon for Kerry Angus
and Darren Kimble in August 1986. ... Missed most of 1986-87 season with
liver disease. ... Traded by Brandon (WHL) to Portland for future considerations in February 1987. The future
considerations called for Brandon to receive a player only if Stewart was
healthy enough to play (he did play seven games). The considerations also
required Portland to return Stewart to Brandon in the event that he returned
to the WHL as an overage junior in 1987-88. ... Played one regular
season game for 1990-91 Albany (IHL) team that eventually folded on Feb. 15,
1991. ... Did not play organized hockey in 1989-90 after his contract with
Winnipeg organization had ended after the 1988-89 season. ... Played both
right wing and center during his pro hockey career. ... Moved to Denver area
and became a youth hockey coach in the Kelowna-based Advanced Prospects
hockey camp system as well as the director of the Littleton (Colo.) Youth
