1988-89 season with bruised knee, an injury suffered during Toronto's Nov.
25, 1988, game at Minnesota. ... Missed part of 1988-89 season with finger injury, suffered during
Toronto's Jan. 6, 1989, game at Washington. He did not return to action until
Toronto demoted him to Newmarket (AHL) on Jan. 13, 1989. ... Missed part of
1989-90 season with hyperextended elbow, suffered during N.Y.
Islanders' March 31, 1990, game vs. Philadelphia. He did not return to
action until Game 5 of N.Y. Islanders' first-round playoff series at N.Y.
Rangers on April 13, 1990. ... Had two assists in his only NHL playoff game, for N.Y.
Islanders in Game 5 of first-round series at N.Y. Rangers on April 13, 1990. Laxdal assisted on Rob DiMaio's goal at 10:20 of the first period, which
gave the Islanders a 2-1 lead. He then assisted on Wayne McBean's goals at
1:50 of the third period, cutting the Rangers' lead to 5-3 in a
series-ending game the Rangers went on to win 6-5. |
