Attended N.Y. Rangers' 1984 training camp but did not make team and returned to Finland for 1984-85 season. ... Missed part of 1985-86 season with hip injury, suffered during N.Y. Rangers' Oct. 19, 1985, game at N.Y. Islanders. He did not return to action until N.Y. Rangers' Nov. 11, 1985, game vs. Chicago. ... Missed start of 1986-87 season with broken left thumb, an injury suffered during N.Y. Rangers' training camp in October 1986. He did not make his 1986-87 NHL regular-season debut until N.Y. Rangers' Oct. 29, 1986, game at St. Louis. ... Returned from spending 1987-88 season in Finland to sign with N.Y. Islanders as an unrestricted free agent on June 1, 1988. ... Missed part of 1988-89 season with chronic pain in left hip and buttocks, an injury he re-aggravated for the last time in N.Y. Islanders' Dec. 22, 1988, game vs. Philadelphia. He was later assigned to Springfield (AHL) on Feb. 3, 1989, and never played in the NHL again -- finishing his last North American season in the minor leagues. ... Had contract bought out by N.Y.
