AWARDS AND HONORS 1990-91: Missed Pittsburgh's 1991 run to Stanley Cup championship due
to shoulder injury. Had name engraved on Stanley Cup despite not appearing in
any postseason games, because he had played enough regular-season games for
the team to qualify for the honor.
1991-92: Dressed as backup goaltender for Pittsburgh team that won
Stanley Cup. Had name engraved on Stanley Cup despite not appearing in any postseason games. 1992-93: Played on first Tampa Bay
Lightning team.
Coaching Career: Named Calgary goaltending coach on Sept. 12, 2001, and
remained in that position until Sept. 25, 2003.
Broadcasting Career: Served as Tampa Bay radio color commentator while
out of lineup with injury during 1993-94 season. Miscellaneous: Made 32 saves in first NHL game to give Vancouver
a 4-4 tie with Washington. ... Allowed Paul Coffey's 47th goal of the 1985-86
season, enabling Coffey to break Bobby Orr's NHL record for goals in one
season by a defenseman during Vancouver's April 2, 1986, game at Edmonton. ... Missed part of 1988-89 season with strained
ligaments in left knee, an injury suffered during Pittsburgh's Oct. 21, 1988,
game at New Jersey. ... Became first Pittsburgh goaltender to win road games
in Philadelphia and Boston in the same season when he achieved feat in
