Miscellaneous: Joined Boston for balance of 1983-84 season after competing in 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo. ... Had assist in his first NHL game. ... Played left wing on line with Rick Middleton and Barry Pederson for Boston in 1983-84. ... Missed part of 1984-85 season with charley horse in left leg. ... Traded by Boston to Detroit in exchange for Dwight Foster on March 11, 1986, but never played for parent team. ... Released by Detroit after 1985-86 season. ... Attended Chicago's 1986 training camp on tryout basis and earned spot on roster. ... Played all three forward positions for Chicago in 1986-87.

TRADE: Minnesota traded Donnelly and Brad Palmer to Boston in exchange for promise that Boston would not draft Brian Bellows with its No. 1 overall pick in the 1982 draft on June 9, 1982.
