sophomore year to sign first NHL contract with Toronto in June 1980. ... Hit
Wayne Gretzky with bruising open-ice check during Toronto's Jan. 14, 1981,
game vs. Edmonton. It was one of the hardest hits Gretzky ever absorbed, and
it left him down on the ice several minutes. The incident got considerable
publicity in newspapers the next day since it marked the first time anyone had
leveled Gretzky. ... Released by Toronto in June 1983. |
