Missed part of 1970-71 season with broken arm, suffered during 1971 WCHL All-Star Game. ... Missed part of 1975-76 season with knee injury, initially suffered during California's Feb. 13, 1976, game vs. Boston. The injury required season-ending surgery after Frig played in California's March 3, 1976, game at Montreal. ... Missed part of 1976-77 season with charley horse, an injury suffered during Cleveland's Dec. 6, 1976, game at Montreal. He did not return until Cleveland's Dec. 29, 1976, game vs. Toronto.

Career Beyond Hockey: Remained in the Salt Lake City area after his retirement and eventually became a project manager for SnapSports Athletic Surfaces, a company that manufactures outdoor and indoor sports surfaces for basketball, tennis, gymnastics and other sports.

Miscellaneous:

Selected by Calgary Broncos in 1972 WHA Draft -- the first-ever WHA Draft -- in February 1972. Made NHL debut in the Game 3 of Cup Finals when called up to replace Keith Magnuson. Led all California defensemen and finished fifth on team with 149 shots in 1974-75 season. Was on the California Golden Seals team that relocated to Cleveland on Aug. 26, 1976.
Played right wing as well as defense for Cleveland during the 1976-77 season. Worked at a Lethbridge hockey school and clothing store in off-seasons of early pro career. Retired for first time in 1981, but came out of retirement to rejoin Salt Lake in 1984. Played one pro inline game for Utah (RHI) at age 43 in league's inaugural 1993 season.
