Scored first NHL goal from a sitting position on the ice for Los Angeles on Jan. 31, 1973, at Pittsburgh, The goal, which beat Penguins goaltender Jim Rutherford, closed out the scoring in a 4-1 loss. ... Won Los Angeles Unsung Hero award in 1975-76. ... Scored at 6:01 of the third period in his first game with St. Louis on Jan. 17, 1978, vs. Toronto, to give team 2-1 lead in a game that ended in a 2-2 tie. ... Jan. 14, 1978 -- Traded by Los Angeles to St. Louis in exchange for future considerations (1980 second-round pick, Greg Terrion). June 13, 1979 -- Left unprotected by St. Louis for NHL Expansion Draft, but was later re-claimed by Blues during draft as a fill-in for Inge Hammarstom, who was claimed off St. Louis roster by Edmonton.

Career Beyond Hockey: Remained in the St. Louis area after his retirement and went into the beer-distribution business with Grey Eagle Distributors. In 2008, after nearly 25 years with the company, he was promoted to the position of Chief Operating Officer. Grey Eagle Distributors is the exclusive distributor of Anheuser-Busch products in St. Louis County and the largest beer wholesale business om the Midwestern United States.

Missed part of 1980-81 season with strained ligaments in knee, an injury suffered while playing for Salt Lake (CHL) in November 1980.

Selected by Miami Screaming Eagles in 1972 WHA Draft, the first WHA Draft, February 1972. Selected by Winnipeg Jets in 1973 WHA draft of established professional players. Played on the power play for Springfield (AHL) during the 1971-72 season. Called up by L.A. in October 1971 and was youngest to date on Kings roster, but did not play.
Paired on defense with Gilles Marotte as rookie with Los Angeles during 1972-73 season. Began to take shifts at left wing for Los Angeles during 1974-75 season. Paired on defense with Gary Sargent for Los Angeles during 1975-76 season. His 165 penalty minutes in 1975-76 were second-highest season total in history of Kings.
Left L.A. in 1978 having played most games for team (377) of any active Kings defenseman. Praised by coaches throughout his career for having great work-ethic and attitude.
