Edmonton team that won Stanley Cup, but did not appear in final series vs.
N.Y. Islanders. As a result, his name was not engraved on the Stanley Cup
because he didn't play enough games to qualify. 1984-85: Played
nine regular-season games for Edmonton team that went on to win Stanley Cup,
but was not with team during postseason. 1986-87: Played 48
regular-season games for Edmonton team that went on to win Stanley Cup, but
was traded away before postseason.
Miscellaneous: Joined Edmonton for balance of 1983-84 season after
competing in 1984 Winter Olympics. ... Had two assists in his first NHL game
and a goal and two assists in his second NHL game. His first goal, scored on
March 31, 1984, beat fellow Finnish player Markus Mattsson, who was playing
goal for Los Angeles. ... Missed part of 1987-88 season with virus,
contracted in November 1987. ... Left North America after 1987-88 season to
finish career in Europe. |
