Chose not to sign with North Stars after graduating college. He became an
unrestricted free agent after the 1986-87 season and later sampled pro
hockey with 45 games for Utica (AHL) during 1987-88 season. ... Went into financial services business after retirement, becoming an
executive and investment officer for Dain Bosworth in Minneapolis while also
coaching hockey. ... Coached Breck School to 2000 Minnesota Class A hockey
championship, the first title in school history. ... Also coached Minnesota
Rockets youth hockey travel team, in addition to his high school coaching
duties, during the 2002-03 season. Chapman's son Blake played on the team,
which also had former NHL star Phil Housley on its coaching staff, because
Housley's son Wilson was also a member of the team.
