Scored goal in his first game with Philadelphia on Oct. 23, 1983, vs.
Toronto. His brother Ron assisted on the goal. ... Broke four teeth when he
was hit in mouth by Mark Messier's stick in Vancouver's Oct. 23, 1988,
game vs. Edmonton. ... Missed parts of 1988-89 season with lower back
injury, suffered when he was checked by Craig Berube in Vancouver's Jan.
17, 1989, game vs. Philadelphia, and with broken nose, an injury suffered
when he was checked by Larry Playfair during Vancouver's March 24, 1989,
game at Buffalo. ... Suspended by NHL for five games in 1989-90 season for
violently slashing Glenn Anderson at 14:43 of the first period during
Vancouver's Jan. 27, 1990, game at Edmonton. Sutter had received a game
misconduct for the slashing incident. He began serving his suspension on
Feb. 19, 1990, and did not return until Vancouver's March 4,
1990, game at Edmonton. ... Played on line with Bob Bassen and Dave Lowry
for St. Louis in 1990-91. ... Missed part of 1991-92 season with concussion,
suffered during St. Louis' Nov. 1, 1991, game at Vancouver. ... Left
unprotected by St. Louis for 1993 NHL Waiver Draft. He was claimed by
Chicago on Oct. 3, 1993. Chicago coached by his brother
Darryl. ... Signed termination contract with Chicago on
July 1, 1994. ... Left unprotected by Chicago for 1994 NHL Waiver Draft, but
was not claimed by any other team. ... Released by Toronto on June 28, 1995.
He was unable to catch on with another NHL team for the 1995-96 season and opted
