HOW HE GOT AWAY |
TRADE/RIGHTS SOLD: Montreal officially sold Wilson's NHL
rights to Winnipeg for $50,000 on October 5, 1979. The deal, made months
earlier in conjunction with
Montreal's agreement to expose Peter Marsh in the June 1979 NHL Expansion Draft so
that it could protect other players, was contingent upon Wilson's making the
Winnipeg roster out of training camp in 1979. Fourteen years later, Montreal got
Wilson back when he signed with the Canadiens as an unrestricted free agent on August 20, 1993. |
