HOW HE GOT AWAY |
WHA/EXPANSION: Norwich entered the WHA after
leaving the University of Wisconsin in 1977. When the WHA and NHL merged in
1979, Norwich had been playing for the Cincinnati (WHA) team that folded.
Winnipeg claimed him from Cincinnati in the WHA dispersal draft on June 9,
1979. Montreal chose not to take him back in the 1979 NHL Reclaim Draft, and he
entered the NHL with Winnipeg. |
