Scouting prior to 1996-97 season and remained in position through 1997-98
season. ... Named Montreal Coordinator of Pro Scouting prior to 2001-02 season
and remained in that position until June 2003.
Miscellaneous: Made debut during 1977 playoffs. ... Had his name on
Stanley Cup before he had played a regular-season game. ... First
regular-season game was Oct. 12, 1977, vs. Minnesota. He scored a goal on his
third shift in that game. ... Missed parts of 1979-80 season with groin and
knee injuries. He suffered the knee injury in March 1980. ... Tore Achilles
Tendon while playing racquetball during summer of 1980. ... Missed start of
1980-81 season while recovering from knee surgery performed in August 1980.
... Missed part of 1980-81 season with bruised rib cartilage, an injury
suffered in March 1981. ... Missed part of 1981-82 season with knee injury
suffered in Montreal's March 2, 1982, game vs. Edmonton. ... Missed part of
1982-83 season with hip injury suffered in December 1982. ... Missed part of
1983-84 season with rib injury suffered in November 1983. ... Missed parts of
1983-84 season with back injury, suffered in Montreal's Feb. 11, 1984, game
vs. Buffalo, and broken left hand, an injury suffered in Montreal's Feb. 25,
1984, game vs. N.Y. Rangers. ... Missed part of 1984-85 season with eye
injury, suffered when he was hit by an errant stick after scoring a goal in
Montreal's March 9, 1985, game vs. Hartford. Complications from the eye injury
threatened to end Mondou's career as he went to Montreal's 1985 training camp.
He attempted his comeback with an assurance from the organization that he
could become an assistant coach for Verdun (QMJHL) if he was unable to resume
playing. In the end he was unable to play and retired. |
