Rangers. ... Missed part of 1984-85 season with eye injury, suffered when he was hit by an errant stick after scoring a goal in Montreal's March 9, 1985, game vs. Hartford. Complications from the eye injury threatened to end Mondou's career as he went to Montreal's 1985 training camp. He attempted his comeback with an assurance from the organization that he could become an assistant coach for Verdun (QMJHL) if he was unable to resume playing. In the end he was unable to play and retired.
