Miscellaneous: Signed as an
pre-draft choice by Cincinnati (WHA) in April 1973. He was loaned to
Michigan for his first WHA season (1974-75) because the expansion Cincinnati
team was not due to play its first season until 1975-76. ... Loaned with Brian
McDonald by Michigan (WHA) to Indianapolis (WHA) in exchange for the loan of
Steve Andrascik and Steve Richardson in November 1974. ... Had knee surgery to
repair torn ligaments during summer of 1976. ... Traded by Cincinnati (WHA) to
Calgary (WHA) for future considerations in February 1977. The Calgary team
folded on May 31, 1977, at which time it returned Locas to Cincinnati to
complete the deal. ... The rink in St. Jerome, Quebec, was named Jacques Locas
Arena in honor of his father. ... Returned to St. Jerome after his retirement
and became a prominent local lawyer, focusing on real estate law.
