condition of the trade in which Minnesota sent Markus Mattsson to Los Angeles
in exchange for a 1985 third-round pick (Stephane Roy) on Feb. 1, 1983. ...
Idolized Rogie Vachon as a child. Ironically, it was Vachon, then an assistant
coach, who told Lessard he was no longer of any value to the Kings early in
the 1983-84 season. ... The rink in his hometown of East Broughton, Quebec,
was named Mario Lessard Arena in his honor.
