WHA/EXPANSION: Stewart never signed with
Montreal, instead jumping to the WHA with Cleveland. He finally entered the
NHL when the WHA and NHL merged in 1979. Montreal chose not to take him back
in the NHL Reclaim Draft on June 9, 1979, and he remained property of Quebec,
which had selected him off the defunct Birmingham team's roster in the WHA
Dispersal Draft. |
