HOW HE GOT AWAY |
WHA/TRADE: Ruskowski did not sign with
Chicago after the draft, instead jumping to the WHA with Houston. Chicago
regained his NHL rights when the NHL and WHA merged in 1979, selecting him in
the NHL Reclaim Draft on June 9, 1979. Three years later, Chicago traded
Ruskowski to Los Angeles in exchange for Larry Goodenough and future
considerations (1984 third-round pick -- Trent Yawney) on October 23, 1982. |
