degree in history from the University of Winnipeg in 1974 and earned an
accounting degree from University of Manitoba in 1980.
Career Beyond Hockey: Moved to
Calgary after completing his education and went to work as an executive
with Pepsi-Cola Canada for 12 years, rising to the role of CEO before taking job as Vice President, Finance and Operations for the
Calgary Herald in 1995. He remained
with the Herald for the next 18
years until his retirement from the company in August 2013. He then
continued to work as an independent accountant in Calgary.
