prior to 2001-02 season and remained in that
position through 2005-06 season. ... Named Boston pro scout prior to 2006-07
season and remained in that position through 2006-07 season.
Miscellaneous: Called up to Buffalo for the first time on Nov. 7, 1983,
and spent a week with team, but did not appear in any games. ... Had assist in his first NHL game. ...
Played right wing for Buffalo for parts of 1986-87 season. ... Missed part
of 1987-88 season with shoulder injury, suffered during Buffalo's Dec. 22,
1987, game at Boston. He did not return to action until Buffalo's Jan. 23,
1988, game at Washington. ... Missed remainder
of 1987-88 season and entire 1988 playoffs with knee injury, suffered during
Buffalo's Feb. 6, 1988, game at N.Y. Islanders. The injury required
season-ending surgery on Feb. 13, 1988. ... Missed part of Buffalo's 1988
training camp with sprained knee, an injury suffered in September 1988.
... Led Chicago with 14-game point-scoring streak during 1989-90 season
(Dec. 6, 1989, to Jan. 6, 1990). ... Suspended by NHL for five games
in 1990-91 season for swinging stick at Bobby Smith during Chicago's
Sept. 30, 1990, preseason game vs. Minnesota -- the Blackhawks' final
preseason game. The play was reviewed by the league, and Creighton's
suspension was announced on Oct. 14, 1990. He was eligible to return for
Chicago's Oct. 25, 1990, game vs. Washington. ... Missed part of 1990-91 season
with sprained right hand, an injury suffered in a fight with Jim McKenzie during Chicago's Feb. 10, 1991,
game at Hartford. He did not return to action until Chicago's Feb. 21, 1991,
game vs. Boston. ... Left unprotected by
N.Y. Islanders for 1992 NHL Waiver Draft. He was claimed by Tampa Bay on
Oct. 4, 1992. ... Missed part of 1993-94 season with strained MCL in
right knee, an injury suffered when he collided with Mike Gartner during Tampa Bay's Oct. 7, 1993, game
at N.Y. Rangers. He
did not return to action until Tampa Bay's Nov. 11, 1993, game vs.
Washington. He
re-aggravated the injury during that game and did
not return to action until Tampa Bay's Dec. 4, 1993, game at Los Angeles. ... Missed part of
1993-94 season with groin injury, suffered during Tampa Bay's Dec. 19, 1993,
game at Buffalo. ... Missed part of 1995-96 season with bruised ankle, an
injury suffered during St. Louis' Oct. 22, 1995, game at Buffalo, and with
broken jaw, an injury suffered during St. Louis' Jan. 9, 1996, game at New
Jersey. He did not return from jaw injury until St. Louis' Feb. 24, 1996,
game vs. Los Angeles. ... Signed with Chicago as a Group III unrestricted free agent
after St. Louis bought out his contract on Oct. 8, 1996. |
