His agent, Herb Pinder, finally reached an agreement with Flyers general manager Bobby Clarke on Oct. 30, 1986. The deal paid McCrimmon $210,000 for 1986-87 and gave him the right to become an unrestricted free agent if the Flyers did not offer him a 15 percent raise to retain his rights. If they did that, any team that signed McCrimmon would owe the Flyers a first- and second-round draft pick. The Flyers retained McCrimmon after the 1986-87 season but promptly traded him to Calgary before the opening of 1987 training camp. ... Paired on defense with Gary Suter for Calgary in 1987-88. ... Missed parts of 1988-89 season with skin rash, suffered on Feb. 9, 1989, and with bruised foot, suffered during Calgary's March 13, 1989, game at N.Y. Rangers. ...
