HOW HE GOT AWAY
WHA/WAIVERS: Langevin did not sign with N.Y. Islanders after he graduated from Minnesota-Duluth. Instead, he jumped to the WHA with Edmonton. When the NHL and WHA merged in 1979, N.Y. Islanders took Langevin back in the NHL Reclaim Draft on June 9, 1979. N.Y. Islanders lost Langevin when they left him unprotected for the 1985 NHL Waiver Draft, and he was claimed by Minnesota on Oct. 7, 1985.
