Alan Eagleson, who landed him a $100,000 per-year contract with California in
1974. Trusted Eagleson to invest majority of the money while playing him a
weekly allowance of $400. However, Eagleson squandered the money, leaving
nothing for Hampton at the time of his retirement. He later presented
documentation that helped lead to Eagleson's criminal conviction. ... Returned
to King City, Ontario, after his retirement and became general manager of the
local hockey arena, while also teaching at hockey schools.
