playing for Philadelphia in game at Buffalo on Nov. 1, 1981, when he and Tony
McKegney were racing back into the Philadelphia zone to touch up for an icing
call. The injury, which required three surgical pins and screws to keep his
ankle together, ended Dailey's season and NHL career -- forcing his first
retirement in July 1982. |
