HOW HE GOT AWAY
RIGHTS SOLD/TRADE: Minnesota sold Pirus' rights to Detroit on January 3, 1980. Minnesota bought his rights back from Detroit on June 6, 1980. Minnesota lost Pirus again when it traded him to N.Y. Islanders in exchange for future considerations on July 4, 1980.
