HOW HE GOT AWAY
LOAN/EXPANSION: On Sept. 1, 1976, Pittsburgh loaned Campbell to Colorado for the 1976-77 season in order to complete deal sent Simon Nolet and Michel Plasse to Colorado as compensation for Pittsburgh's Aug. 7, 1976, signing of Pittsburgh restricted free agent Dennis Herron. Campbell was returned to Pittsburgh for future considerations in May 1977. Pittsburgh left Campbell unprotected for the 1979 NHL Expansion Draft, and he was claimed by Edmonton on June 13, 1979.
