- Was subject of a controversy in September and October 1970 after
leaving Red Deer (AJHL) to join Swift Current (WCHL). Red Deer
argued that the WCHL had illegally poached Forsey and two other
players in violation of agreements between the two leagues. The
dispute was eventually settled, and Forsey was allowed to continue
playing in the WCHL.
- Worked as a linesman for the first home game in Calgary Flames
history at Stampede Corral on Oct. 9, 1983, vs. Quebec.
- Worked as a linesman in the first Calgary Flames game at the
Olympic Saddledome on Oct. 15, 1983, vs. Edmonton.

Officiating Career: Turned to
officiating after his playing career. He eventually
became an NHL linesman, based out of Calgary, Edmonton, and Winnipeg, who worked NHL games from the 1979-80 season and
worked a total of 623 games (600 regular season; 23 postseason) until his retirement in the summer of 1987.
... Named NHL's video-review official for Winnipeg Jets games prior to
1991-92 season and remained in that position until Jets relocated to
Phoenix in 1996.
Career Beyond Hockey: Remained
in Winnipeg to become a
regional sales representative specializing in orthopedics for a
prosthetics manufacturer called Howmedic Co. after his retirement from
officiating. He was active for many years in the Canadian Special
Olympics and Big Brothers of Manitoba organizations.
