Demoted to minor leagues for first time in his career on Feb. 26, 1999, when Vancouver sent him down to Syracuse (AHL). He finished the season with Syracuse and never played in the NHL again. ... Played with PGA golfer Brad Faxon on winning team at 1996 Greater Vancouver Open Pro-Am golf tourney. ... Was active in charitable causes during his playing days, including work with Calgary Literacy Program,  Children's Hospital of Vancouver, the Canuck Foundation, Athletes for4 Kids, and the Vancouver Heroes for Hunger campaign. ... Returned to Calgary area after his retirement and became a butcher, working in his own meat shop. ... Became active in Oldtimers' charity hockey after his retirement.
