Was Hull's second-round pick, 19th overall, in 1982 QMJHL midget draft. He was the first goaltender taken in the draft -- three spots ahead of future NHL star Patrick Roy.

Played 40 minutes and made 18 saves in his only NHL game after replacing Clint Malarchuk to start the second period of a game Hartford led 3-1. Washington outscored Hartford 3-2 with Raymond in goal, but ended up losing the game 5-4 on Kevin Dineen's goal at 9:07 of third period. ... Signed with St. Louis as an unrestricted free agent on Sept. 12, 1990, but never played for parent team.
