HOW HE GOT AWAY
TRADE: Quebec traded Rochefort and Jason Lafreniere to N.Y. Rangers in exchange for Bruce Bell, Jari Gronstrand, Walt Poddubny and 1989 fourth-round pick (Eric Dubois) on August 1, 1988.
